Works by Allen Say

Allen Say is best known for his children's books that combine elegant watercolors and powerful stories. He has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards throughout his career. Say has been recognized by the Boston Globe, American Library Association and received a Caldecott Medal in 1994 for Grandfather's Journey. Beginning in 1988 with the book A River Dream, Say began writing and illustrating his own works exclusively.
In addition to Grandfather’s Journey and Kamishibai Man, works from Home of the Brave and Music for Alice are included, which touch on the Japanese American experience living in this country through World War II.

Fall in love and defend your choice to the end. This free event is designed to expose educators, parents and children's book lovers to this year's healthy crop of beautiful children's books.
The Allen County Public Library and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art invite you to come choose Allen County's favorite children's book illustrator of 2007. An expert panel will guide us through the selection process as the public is encouraged to join the debate and vote for their favorite children's book. For more info click here.
