2008 Biennial juror and internationally renowned artist Susanna Coffey is the F.H. Sellers Professor of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Coffey is a critically acclaimed painter and has exhibited extensively throughout the world. She is currently represented in galleries in New York, Chicago, Boston, New Orleans, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca.

Coffey received her MFA at the Yale School of Fine Arts and her BFA Magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut. She is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including: the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, a residency at Bellagio in Lake Como, Italy, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award and has been a Member of the National Academy of Art and Design since 1999.
