American Art Initiative:
Expanding The Concept of Outreach
The Museum truly aspires to be a resource for people throughout our region. Our Scholastic Art & Writing Program now stretches into 42 Indiana counties, providing students in the 7th through 12th grades with a meaningful experience and the opportunity to have their achievements recognized on a national stage.
Beyond Scholastics, we are seeking new ways to engage communities on their home turf, using our resources and expertise to help make something exciting and meaningful occur closer to home, so to speak. Just in the past 18 months, we’ve reached out to partner with organizations in Auburn, Rising Sun, and Warsaw.
Our commitment to reaching out to a much wider range of people throughout NE Indiana is important to us. To help us better connect with folks in all the counties of the region, we are soon adding two new positions to the Museum’s staff — Community Outreach Specialists, who will work to help us identify community partners and meaningful projects that we can develop that will bring the experience of American Art to thousands more people throughout the state. Watch our website for updates throughout the coming year.
