2005-2006 Retrospective
July 28 – August 26, 2007

During the past two school years, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art has distributed over 1000 digital cameras to area 4th and 5th grade students as part of Building Relationships for Success: Imaging One Another, an outreach initiative funded by the Foellinger Foundation. The mission of the project is to strengthen relationships, through the medium of digital photography, between participating students and their adult caretakers and mentors.

Over a thousand participating students have had the opportunity to take home a digital camera for one or two days and later respond with descriptive writing to a self-selected image. Each school’s photographs and writings have been exhibited at the Museum of Art during First Sunday family events since 2005.

This summer, two special retrospective exhibitions will feature the accumulative works from the first two years of this exciting and innovative program. These photographs and writings are guaranteed to delight, enlighten, and stir the emotions of viewers of all ages.
