Arts United
• Arts United

Who is Arts United?
It is the mission of Arts United to provide support to arts organizations and to united and coordinate arts efforts in Northeast Indiana. Incorporated in 1955, Arts United is the third oldest united arts fund in the United States, the second largest arts council in Indiana and one of eighty such organizations in the country. As the umbrella organization for non-profit arts groups in this area, Arts United provides leadership to the local arts community and is the largest single source of financial support for the arts in the region. Arts United is the entity that brings the arts community together to address key issues and questions. Through Arts United, many arts groups in the region can plot a common direction and speak with a common voice.

Why should I support Arts United?
Arts United provides financial support to over 56 regional cultural organizations. Of the 56, generous support is allocated to ten “funded member” arts organizations in Fort Wayne. Annual allocations to those ten groups represent between 12-20% of those organizations operating budgets. The ten funded members include Fort Wayne Museum of Art, ARCH, Artlink, Fort Wayne Ballet, Fort Wayne Cinema Center, Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, Fort Wayne Dance Collective, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Youtheatre and The History Center.

A gift to Arts United is a gift to the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Over the past ten years, Arts United has given the Fort Wayne Museum of Art $1,736,844 in operating support.

How do I support Arts United?
Many area arts patrons receive a letter of solicitation during the first quarter of each calendar year. If you are already receiving materials from Arts United, please contribute by sending your pledge card in the business reply envelope provided in your residential or workplace packet. If you are not receiving annual mailings from Arts United you may join us by contacting Arts United at 260-424-0646 or by contacting your own development professional, Marie Eifert at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Packets will be available for you through the development office.

Arts United doesn’t make art but rather, makes art possible. This makes Fort Wayne a better community to live, work and raise a family. Please consider being a part of the 2006 Arts United Campaign.
