All this for only $30 annually! If you would like to support the FWMoA's mission and programs in a direct way; join at a higher level and you can receive the Artist Benefits for free! Click here to join or call 260.422.6467 and ask for the Membership Department to learn more.
Additional Opportunities
From time to time the FWMoA distributes news and artist opportunities we receive from other institution. We are selective in what we distribute, and every precaution is taken to pass on the highest quality of information. However, the FWMoA is not affiliated with or responsible for the events. If you have a question about the opportunities listed, please use the contact info provided.

Rebekah Jacob Gallery Call for Entries: Phoneography
The most accessible of the visual arts, photography has been pushed even further into mainstream culture as the smartphone has become what noted photographer Annie Leibovitz calls “the snapshot camera of today.” Although democratic in the opportunity to point, shoot, edit, and share, this innovation is rapidly transforming the classical photograph into a revolutionary social phenomenon—and the newest artistic medium.
Rebekah Jacob sees an opportunity to explore the artistic possibilities and ramifications of this emerging medium at her eponymous gallery summer 2012. “iPhone images are the intersection of creativity and technology,” says Jacob. “Although in its infancy as a medium now, I am fascinated by the immediacy and intimacy of smartphone, particularly the iphone, and expect that this method will soon be firmly embedded in the commercial marketplace.”
Rebekah Jacob Gallery is holding an open call for entries to their exhibition, “Ways of Seeing: Phoneography,” that will open on July 12, 2012 (5:30-8:30 PM) in their new space at 502 King Street. The installation will include up to 500 photographs selected by the curatorial staff of Rebekah Jacob Gallery. Photographers may submit up to ten images taken and exclusively edited with an IOS device. Digital submissions of square or rectangular jpeg files may be sent to submissions@rebekahjacobgallery.com by midnight on June 3, 2012 and must include the photographer’s name, phone number, and email address. For complete submission requirements, please visit www.rebekahjacobgallery.com/resources.
Rebekah Jacob Gallery represents an international group of contemporary artists whose diverse practices include painting, works on paper, photography and video with an emphasis on modern art and the photography of the American South. The gallery also offers an ethical and confidential alternative to the resale of art works and an array of appraisal services for resale, insurance, estate, bankruptcy, and equitable distribution purposes.
