Education

Our commitment to education has never been stronger.  Our existing “menu” of onsite and outreach programs for children and adults is extensive and recognized for its quality.  That said, we continually push to increase quality, content, and service.  In the next two years, we strive to:
    •    Continue to enhance and refine our School Tour Program into a model, providing engaging and relevant experiences for K – 12 students who visit on a level not surpassed anywhere in the nation.
    •    Develop a model after-school program that attracts a diverse student population interested in new media in the arts, new avenues of self-expression, and new activities into which to channel their abundant energy.
    •    Create a K – 12 resource oasis for the Auer Art Library that will energize art teachers throughout the community and help them teach their students on a daily basis.
    •    Create a teacher training program for working teachers that will help them a) stay up-to-date on materials & methods, b) enhance their studio abilities in their chosen media, and c) help them gain skills in media areas outside their college education concentrations.
    •    Build on our already strong program menu for people 18 and older by further refining popular existing programs, resting less active programs, and introducing some new, cutting edge programs that will draw new audiences and help us build new relationships.
    •    Increase our collaborative programming with partners throughout our region.
    •    Serve more people and increase the diversity of our audiences as we work to increase understanding and appreciation of the diverse and rich nature of America’s visual arts.
