The Fort Wayne Museum of Art has been developing a number of programs over the past two years specifically designed for students, faculty, and staff as part of its University Outreach Initiative. These programs are meant not only to augment the education of students in the region, but to allow the Museum to become a vital resource for area visual art programs and majors.

The Fort Wayne Museum of Art offers ongoing opportunities in the form of internships for undergraduates attending college or universities in the region and across the nation. We believe that a vital subset of achieving our goals is the cultivation, training, and education of the museum professionals of tomorrow.

Internships are regularly offered in the summer, and often we open positions for internships during the Spring and Fall semesters. The internship program is designed for undergraduates who major or minor in art, art history, graphic design, or museum studies. Although we consider applicants in other majors, those with coursework experience in visual arts are preferred.

Internships are unpaid, although occasionally FWMoA is able to pay interns through funding awarded through grants. All candidates must apply for FWMoA internships posted at www.indianaintern.net.  We are currently taking applications for Summer 2011 until April 18. Contact Amanda Martin at martin@fwmoa.org for answers to your questions.
